Sarswati Vidya Mandir is situated in one of the beautiful place of Himachal Pradesh. Though entire Himachal Pradesh is famous for its panoramic beauty. Town is situated in the lap of majestic mountain ranges at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level.
Social workers Sh. Ram Swaroop Sharma, Sh. Sansar Chand, Sh. Ashwani Sood Sh. Pahar Singh, Sh. Tilak Behl ,Sh. Kanshi Ram & other members wanted to start a Saraswati Vidya Mandir in 1988 at Balakrupi in rented place on Banai road. He persuaded Himachal Shiksha in 1989 for the permission of the school at Balakrupi. By the great efforts of those devoted persons this institution start from Nursery class in 1988 & upgraded in 1993 at the level of primary standard & also upgraded in 1996 at the level of middle standard. In 1996 a great social worker Col. Ganga Ram Jamwal was appointed as a Chairman in School Committee. Sh. Jamwal ji take great interest to run this institution properly & managed effectively which in turn led to the further up gradation of the school to Matric level in 1999.
